Creative Activities
Ceramic sculpture and formation, clay and wood, functional ceramics and art objects - all this is present in the work of Irina Okrukh. The universalism and wide range of the author allows not only to get an idea of the Krasnoyarsk school, but also is a worthy example of modern Russian artistic ceramics. Being a regular participant in exhibition projects of the highest level, Irina Gennadievna is constantly on the lookout, actively works and teaches. Possession of traditional techniques and the use of expressive means enriches the creative fabric of her works and allows her to conduct fruitful teaching activities. Irina Okrukh always has something to tell and something to captivate students, because she is also constantly studying, learning new things, mastering the latest trends in modern ceramics. The author formulates his creative interests in this way: "A composite ceramic layer is something that is interesting to me at this period of time. Working with a plane in ceramics is very similar to classical painting, it can be traditional, decorative or abstract. She has huge opportunities: this is the painting itself, textures, textures, relief and a huge arsenal of different ceramic techniques and author's developments that allow you to organically combine the artistic image and the constructive and plastic possibilities of the material in one work. I am interested in the use of machine tools in DPI and directly in decorative layers. At the moment, I am fascinated by the game of painting with ceramic materials".
Covering several decades of Irina and Vladimir Okrukh's joint work, one can notice in it quotes and spiritual kinship with the work of artists of the early twentieth century, the era of Russian Art Nouveau. Perhaps it is the synthetic approach to materials that unites these authors and actualizes their creativity.
