Mikheev Aleksandr Vladimirovich (Russian: Михеев Александр Владимирович, pronounced [mʲɪʹxʲeəf]; born 28 June 1963) is a Russian clarinet player, Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor at Dmitri Hvorostovsky Siberian State Academy of Arts.
Aleksandr Mikheev was born on June 28, 1963 in the city of Mykolaiv, the Ukrainian SSR. Being a self-taught musician, he used to sing for pleasure and accompanied himself on the guitar.
After leaving school, he did his military service in a military band. In 1987, he graduated from Mykolaiv State Music School, A. M. Chepur’s clarinet class.
In 1988, Mikheev came to Krasnoyarsk and entered the Krasnoyarsk State Institute of Arts (since 2018 – Dmitri Hvorostovsky Siberian State Academy of Arts), Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation Pyotr Fedorovich Shakhov’s clarinet class (Russian: Петр Федорович Шахов). From the very first year he proved to be a promising young musician and soon was invited to one of the Symphony Orchestra concert programs at the Krasnoyarsk Regional Philharmonic. Since 1989, Aleksandr Mikheev has been working in the Krasnoyarsk Academic Symphony Orchestra as the concertmaster of the clarinet group.
In 1994, he graduated from the university with the qualifications Concert Performer. Orchestra Musician. Chamber Ensemble Musician. Teacher. Soon after that, Mikheev started teaching at his alma mater. Since 1996, he has been teaching at Music School No. 8 in Krasnoyarsk, since 2000 – at the Krasnoyarsk College of Arts (now the P. I. Ivanov-Radkevich Krasnoyarsk College of Arts). From 2000 to 2017, Mikheev held the position of the Head of the Department of Wind and Percussion Instruments at Krasnoyarsk State Institute of Arts.
In 2003, he graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory (Post Graduate Performance Course). His creative supervisor was Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation, Professor V. P. Bezruchenko.
Since 2003, he has been performing with Krasnoyarsk and Siberian groups. As a musician of the orchestra, he toured in Yugoslavia, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, China, South Korea, Chile, Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru.
In 2007, Mikheev was awarded the title of Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation and in 2011 – the academic title of Professor.
As a teacher, he gives master classes and provides advanced training in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and far beyond its borders: the cities of Divnogorsk, Uzhur, Zelenogorsk, Norilsk, Kyzyl, Abakan, Ulan-Ude, Irkutsk, Chita, and Surgut.
Mikheev brought up a galaxy of talented musicians who work in professional orchestral groups and music education institutions in Russia and abroad: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yerevan, Abu Dhabi, Ryazan, Kazan, Omsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Tyumen, Norilsk, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, Abakan, Pyatigorsk, Kyzyl, Krasnoyarsk, Uzhur, etc.
Mikheev was awarded an Honorary Certificate of the Ministry of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Territory “For many years of work and achievements in the sphere of culture and art”.
